O Rock And Roll é um estilo musical que surgiu nos Estados Unidos no final da década de 40 e no início da de 50, com raízes na música Country, Blues, R&B  e música golpel, espalhou-se rapidamente pelo mundo.O instrumento mais comum nesse estilo é a guitarra. Sempre presente nas bandas, podendo ser um único instrumentista com duas funções diferenciadas (base e solo). Normalmente as bandas além do instrumento predominante (guitarra), são formados por: contrabaixo e uma bateria. No início do Rock'N'Roll também utilizava-se piano ou saxofone como instrumentos bases, mas foram substituídos pela guitarra a partir da metade dos anos 1950.

Muito além de ser um simples gênero musical, o Rock'N'Roll influenciou estilos de vida, moda, atitudes e linguagens.
